Kamil Tatara
(b. 1981, Szczebrzeszyn, Poland)
Contemporary visual artist based in Poznań, Poland. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, awarded in 2006. Tatara works primarily in painting, specializing in oil and acrylic mediums. His practice also extends to small-scale sculptural forms and installation. He is best known for two significant series in his oeuvre: Sentences, initiated in 2012, and TCS, begun in 2015.
Tatara’s work is characterized by a nuanced dialogue between image and language, often merging semi-figurative compositions with textual elements. His Sentences series explores the ephemeral and poetic through fragmented text and painterly abstraction, while the TCS series reflects a conceptual engagement with system design and visual coding. Across his practice, Tatara maintains a distinct balance between intuitive expression and conceptual rigor.
